Oh, wait, that’s right…I AM GOING TO COMIC-CON 2012!!!

Serious sister bonding takes many different forms. In some families, it involves mani/pedi days.Other sister besties prefer going for a jog, or meeting up for a gossip filled lunch. The Ricker sisters? We prefer cross country road trips to the biggest geek fest of the year. That’s right.  Comic-Con 2012, here we come!

Much squealing and jumping up and down commenced when we discovered that we had, indeed, procured badges. Four whole days of Magic The Gathering, Cosplay, stalking our favorite authors and artists, and generally running wild in a geeky girl paradise is more than we could have hoped for when we decided we should spend some quality time this summer. Maybe we can make time to check out the San Diego Zoo while we’re there, too.

I’ve already ordered my first cosplay choice for this mystical week, and my little sis RyeAnne has already started building a new badass Magic Deck for the tournaments that take place every morning. Not to mention the very exciting special awesome guests that we’re hoping to get close to while skipping happily through our Candy Land adventure.

One such guest is Gail Carriger (you can read my post about her series, The Parasol Protectorate,  for more on her). I absolutely adore her, and hope to get close enough to have a real conversation.

I may have done more very elegant squealing and jumping when I saw KATSUHIRO FREAKING OTOMO on the list. That’s right…the creator of Akira will hopefully end up standing just a few short feet from me in about…2 months.  *laughs maniacally* Did I mention Katsuhiro Otomo is going to be at Comic-Con 2012?  AAAAAHHHH!!!

And when I feel like taking a moment to sit down and take a breather? Why, they provide Anime for our viewing pleasure throughout Comic-Con. They don’t have the list available yet, but it will give me something to get my blood pumping when it does get released.

There is not a schedule of events posted yet, but I’ll be sure to write another obnoxiously happy blog post when it does make it’s way into my hot little hands. Until then, I’ll make myself content with poring over Google Maps and staring dreamily off into the distance. In my imagination, my sister and I are already there…
